The future of health care is here.

Health care isn’t like fine dining. You shouldn’t have to guess the “market price.” You deserve to know in advance the cost and coverage. With Surest, you do. No deductibles. No coinsurance. No hard math. Just upfront, clear pricing.

Engagement contributes to improved health outcomes.

Evidence shows that being actively engaged in your health care can lead to better health outcomes.1 How we receive, interpret, and act on health information is a big piece of this. At Surest, we do our part by giving members the tools to better understand their costs and coverage options. Members don’t just enroll in their plan and then forget about it. A majority of our members use the app as it was intended to be used — to search, compare cost and care options, and then make informed decisions.

Our members are actively engaged with the plan.

With the Surest plan, engagement not only means using the app before making an appointment, it’s also meaningful interactions and a smooth-running, streamlined experience. We leverage data to ensure members receive timely, personal, and relevant information throughout the plan year.2

Engagement is one part of the story.

Another part is our innovative no-deductible plan design. When members understand that they can search for cost and care options in advance — without a deductible getting in the way — they’re less likely to skip care or prescriptions, and more likely to be proactive about their health.

Our members say yes to preventive services.

Higher engagement with the health plan has also led our members to a higher rate of preventive checkups. During these checkups, doctors can help detect potential problems early, when they’re easier (and less costly) to treat.3

A win-win: Employees and employers can save money.

An employer’s health plan needs to curb rising health care costs without trimming the benefit or shifting costs onto employees — this may help recruit and retain top talent. The Surest plan was designed to provide upfront cost and coverage information, not cut benefits to save on cost.

When members check prices before seeking or scheduling care — with lower copays assigned to providers evaluated as higher-value — they have the power of information to make their own decisions — and potentially save money. By designing a benefit plan that aligns cost and value, and allowing members an easy way to see their options, Surest is working to provide value to employees and employers.

More money in employees’ pockets.

Members had 54% lower out-of-pocket costs.4

Savings opportunities for employers — without shifting expenses.

  • Year-over-year medical trend was less than 5% sustained across 3 years.5
  • 11% lower total cost per member, per month.6

The high-value care connection.

Members can check and compare prices and options in advance of seeking care, with lower prices indicating providers evaluated as higher-value. Our proprietary pricing model requires a shift in how we think about value; it factors in improved outcomes/effectiveness, lower likelihood of surgery complications, efficient use of resources, service costs, and more.

Fewer than 8 out of 100 members used the least-efficient providers.7

Members shifted from hospital-based surgeries to cost-efficient ambulatory surgical centers (ASC).

  • There was a 5% reduction in overall surgeries.8
  • 16% less inpatient surgeries9
  • 3% less outpatient surgeries9
  • 9% increase in ASC surgeries9

When comparing Surest costs to risk-adjusted benchmarks, the cost per surgery is 15% less on the Surest plan at the inpatient setting, 14% less at outpatient hospitals, and 43% less at ASCs.10

And because members knew their options in advance and chose providers evaluated as high-value, results showed:

  • 13% fewer inpatient hospital admissions11
  • A drop in emergency room use at 6% lower, and a 6% increase in urgent care utilization12
  • 4% fewer outpatient surgeries, resulting in 22% lower costs per surgery11
  • 20% more physician visits, with 92% of members selecting high-efficiency providers11
  • 7% more physical therapy visits11
  • 7 times higher virtual visits13

Members have a positive experience. They like the plan.

Offer a health benefit that prioritizes choice, flexibility, the potential to save, and employee well-being, all while helping control the bottom line.
