Our history
Surest was formed in 2016 by veteran insurance innovators passionate about making health insurance work like other helpful services in our lives, where options and clear costs are available before the point of care. A sustainable benefit that employers and employees could both afford and rely on to support changing health needs. The Surest health plan came to life in 2017 when we signed our first customers.
Surest joined forces with UnitedHealthcare in 2022. The result has helped enhance the Surest health plan for members with access to one of the largest provider networks in the country, and for employers through plan design options to offer a sustainable health benefit without cost shifting.

Information is powerful
Information is central to our design. We took a hard look at provider outcomes and care options. We graded them, analyzed them, and scrutinized hundreds of data sets. We evaluated providers on quality and efficiency and assigned prices to them based on our findings. We asked questions about what’s included in a visit and plan limits and made those details visible, not hidden, in our plan design. Through countless hours of production and testing, we put all this information into a tool that fits in the palm of your hand.
